Solar Music Mondays
Crowd Sourced Inspiration for Changing the World
In 2019, I officially launched #SolarMusicMonday, and began building a collection of songs and artists that inspires action and hope. I have been a part of this amazing world of solar energy for many years, and am hoping to bring us together and build us up with music.
Let’s crowd source a playlist of music that motivates us, gets us going in the morning, and keeps us strong – as we work together to expand solar access, bring real environmental justice, and heal the planet.
2020 brings a new year, a new decade, and a renewed commitment for action. My hope is that together, we can inspire and motivate each other. Enjoy the stories, passion & music, all with heart.

The Inaugural #SolarMusicMonday
The top of the playlist remains the first ever selection for #SolarMusicMonday:
Sometimes, Midnight Oil
Recorded Live at Domain, 2017
For decades Midnight Oil has filled ears & hearts; inspiring unapologetic advocacy. Reminding us there is no need for lines between politics, music, and life. No time for love ballads; instead with every song a fight for the planet, for indigenous rights, and peace. A soundtrack for battles over the years, and for more to come. Because you don’t give in. – AH
I know that the sunset empire shudders and shakes
I know there’s a floodgate and a raging river
I say the silence of the ribbons of iron and steel
I say hear the punch drunk huddle drive hammer and steel
Sometimes you’re taken to the wall
But you don’t give in
I know they arm wrestle on the altar
I say don’t leave your heart in a hard place
Sometimes the face is gonna fall
But you don’t give in
Let’s Hear Your Inspiration

About Me
I have had the amazing opportunity to work in the solar industry for many years, working with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, City of Milwaukee, and now Sunrun for the past five+ years. I have gotten to know so many great people working to increase access to solar, especially as a way to push toward environmentally just solutions. #SolarMusicMonday is my attempt to combine my two passions of music and clean energy, and I know so many of us have favorite artists or songs that inspire, pump us up, or give us hope to keep fighting.
